Retail & E-commerce
Penetration Testing for Retail & E-commerce
Cyber threats hit retail and e-commerce more than any other sector. Attackers target customer data, payment systems, and supply chains. You cannot afford delays. Every gap in your system becomes a doorway for threats.
Overview
How We Secure Retail & E-commerce.
Secure your customer’s payment data, login credentials, and personal information with a Pentest.
The e-commerce and retail industry faces 32.4% of all cyberattacks. You cannot ignore the risk. Your payment platforms, apps, and inventory systems stay exposed without proper testing.
We help you spot threats before damage occurs. Our methods protect you from phishing, ransomware, and malware. You also meet PCI DSS standards. Customers trust you more when their data stays safe.
Threat picture
How Retail and E-commerce Actually Gets Attacked.
Most retail breaches are not clever. They are ordinary weaknesses in a checkout, a discount engine or a supplier integration, found by someone who looked properly.
Price and basket tampering
A checkout that trusts a value sent by the browser lets someone change a price, apply a discount twice, or check out with a negative quantity. Scanners never find this because every request is well formed. It only appears when a person works through the flow on purpose.
Card skimming in third-party scripts
Magecart-style attacks rarely touch your servers. They compromise a tag manager, an analytics snippet or a chat widget, then read the card field directly from the page. If you cannot list every script running on your checkout, you cannot say your payment page is clean.
Account takeover at scale
Stolen credentials from other breaches get replayed against your login page by the thousand. Saved cards, stored addresses and loyalty balances make retail accounts worth taking. Rate limiting that only counts requests per IP stops almost none of it.
Exposed order and customer data
Order confirmation pages, invoice PDFs and returns portals often key on a sequential number. Change the number and you read someone else's order. This single class of flaw accounts for a large share of retail data exposure we find.

Compliance
What Retail Has to Answer To.
PCI DSS is the one with teeth. If you store, process or transmit card data, version 4.0.1 now expects regular testing of the systems in scope and a clear map of where cardholder data actually lives. Most retailers discover during scoping that the scope is wider than they assumed, usually because a reporting database or a support tool quietly holds card references.
UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 apply to everything else your customers give you. Names, addresses, order history and behavioural data are all personal data, and Article 32 asks you to test your security measures rather than simply install them.
We write findings so your PCI assessor and your data protection lead can both use the same report. Each issue names the systems affected, the standard it touches and the fix, so nobody has to translate a technical finding into a compliance answer.

Yes. We agree testing windows before we start, usually outside your peak hours, and anything that could disrupt checkout is discussed with you first. Most retailers have us test a staging copy for the destructive checks and production for everything else. There is a named engineer reachable throughout in case anything needs pausing.
